Aletihad News Centre has been established with the objective of reporting on matters pertaining to business, finance, economic affairs, and sport. Its purpose is also to contribute to the development of national talent. The launch of this new media strategy was officiated by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The event took place at the Abu Dhabi National Theatre on Tuesday, as announced by the Abu Dhabi Media Office. In addition to the establishment of the Aletihad News Centre, the strategy includes the transformation of the Arabic-language Aletihad newspaper, which will now include an English-language edition. Furthermore, Zahrat Al Khaleej magazine will be published in both Arabic and English, with a focus on showcasing the accomplishments of successful women in the UAE and the Arab world.
During the launch announcement, Sheikh Khaled affirmed the
importance the UAE leadership places on the media sector, underlining the
active role it has played in supporting the country's progress over the past 50
years.
He also said the launch of the news centre will help to
train national talent as well as portray the rich cultural and social heritage
of Emirati society.
